Kebnekaise & Tolpagorni ski expedition

Climbing Kebnekaise and skiing back down is a classic objective in Swedish alpine ski mountaineering — and an experience that requires the right conditions, precise timing, and solid competence. On this four-day expedition, we move in alpine style, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and high-quality skiing both uphill and down.

By using snowmobile transport into the mountains, we maximize our time in terrain and dedicate the days to ski touring in true high-alpine surroundings. The ascent of Kebnekaise is combined with Tolpagorni, widely regarded as offering the most spectacular and continuous ski descent in Sweden. The descent begins with a rappel into Tolpagorni’s bowl and continues through steep, dramatic terrain.

All tours are adapted to current weather and snow conditions as well as the experience of the group. Guiding is conducted in a small group (1:3) by an IFMGA-certified mountain guide. The fixed ropes on Kebnekaise have been removed, meaning the ascent now involves true alpine climbing, placing clear demands on both guide and participants.

This experience is offered to private groups of 1–3 participants from late February to mid-April.

Prerequisites

This trip is suitable for skiers with very strong off-piste skiing skills who are comfortable skiing black pistes in variable snow conditions. You must also have good physical fitness to handle several consecutive days of ski touring in a high-alpine environment.

Previous ski touring experience is required. You should be familiar with transitions, able to ascend efficiently, and comfortable handling your equipment in alpine terrain. Guiding, pace, and route choices are continuously adapted to group ability and current conditions, with a focus on safety, flow, and a high-quality ski experience.
